October 26, 2010
London, ON

I'm home at last from my grand adventures! Now it's time for serious sleep, major laundry and dog kisses at the end of the rainbow. It was the busiest tour in Sweetlandish touring history and I'm sorry I didn't have more time to write. Tour tales and blog updates coming soon, I promise! Until then, have a peek at the two new Fall Tour photo albums I posted in the Adventures in Sweetland gallery.

Talk soon...

Toronto, ON

Alas, I made it all the way across the country in time to see Patty Griffin play tonight in Toronto. Sweet! It was a long country man... let me tell ya. So glad to be back in the arms of the homeland. Here for a week of unpacking, cleaning and re-packing... Then it's off to gaie Paris for me!
updates soon! xo

April 25, 2005
Sault Ste Marie, ON

It's the last night of sleazy motels for me on this trip, baby. My motel blanket even says "Motel" printed in black ink all across it. Gotta love that. Oh, Ontario-you are so long and take FOREVER to drive through. This was day 2 of the Ontario-haul, all cold and drippy with threats of snow and such. Had to pull over last night in Motel Nowhere due to serious freezing rain. NOTHING good to eat up here for days. Icky white bread and nasty fried soggy potato products prevail. Dreaming of clouds of brown rice sushi lifting me up to the firmament forever... But oh, the beauty. This is true and glorious wilderness country and I am so blessed to be travelling through. It's off to Sudbury to see Darlene tomorrow. Hooray!

love, K

Edmonton, AB

Greetings from snowy and seriously brrrrr Edmonton. Have been here for a couple days visiting with the amazing Mr. Bill Bourne. Bill's been giving me some Flamenco guitar lessons (lucky me) and I've been struggling desperately to wrap my brain (and fingers) around the crazy rhythms and such.... It's going to take me a while but I am DETERMINED to learn! Besides the painful negative temperatures I have been thoroughly enjoying my adventures through the Canadian prairies. Driving has been good, but my gosh it is SUCH a long country, isn't it? Had a truly incredible gig the other night in Calgary with amazing Wailin' Jenny's. They were so good I cried all the way through their second set. It was a very magical evening and I can't wait to cross paths with those fabulous women again, soon. I'm here in Edmonton for another day or so- enough time to get my hair chopped and dyed darrrrk ( in honour of the dark half of the year.) Then off though the mountains to the coast I go... Other Ocean, here I come.

xoxo,
Lady of ye Frozen Road
